College is a complicated and self developing time in your life. One of the most important decisions that you will make in this time period is what you want to do for the rest of your life. Many students who are entering college have already had a job, even if the job was working at a fast food restaurant. No matter what type of job experience you have it is important to realize what are your strengths and what are you weaknesses. For example, if you found that you are very good with numbers and math and like working with the public you might want to consider going into accounting. Or, if you found that you really enjoy working with children you might consider going into teaching. In the end, determining what course of study you would like to take really depends on your interests. The course of study you enter should show your personality and interests. For example, if you are not good and science do not enroll in the chemist program. Set yourself up to succeed in your college classes. Many people feel that college and higher education are more about getting a job than learning about something that you enjoy. No one wants to have a job for the next thirty years that they hate. Therefore, really think about working in a job before starting the program. Many professionals would be happy to speak with you before you enroll in the program to tell you what working in the job is really like. |
