Course Convenience: Flexibility

Perfection — you’ve discovered — isn’t easy to achieve. A course was chosen; a degree was earned; and all days seemed ripe with possibilities. It was to be the beginning of a wanted life, with the right career and the right decisions. All things were to be simple.

Such simplicity hasn’t been found yet, however.

The major you selected has proven itself instead to be weak: it’s defined by rigid standards, can’t be applied to other fields; and trying to gain the job of your dreams is a process that is claiming all of your time (without offering any relief). You’ve trapped yourself in that proverbial corner and there seems to be no way to escape. Your degree lacks flexibility…. and now so do you.

It is an unfortunate truth that not all majors are created equal. While some courses can be used to transition from career to career, others are instead limiting — defined by far too many rules and far too few rewards. Their capacities are meager and their applications are minimal. They instead force individuals to remain within highly specific areas: with no way to propel themselves forward.

It is important therefore to choose course studies that can be offered to a variety of fields. Let a major be less defined in its structure and more universal. While some fields will demand certain unavoidable degrees, others may instead accept less specific ones — and these are to be pursued. Individuals must try to offer themselves convenience for the future; and being forced within a tiny career arena will help no one. Choose courses that will reflect different positions, reinforcing them with traditional credits. These can help to strengthen chances later at finding a job (rather than battling others for the few available positions left).

Be flexible with all choices. Be wise with all credits. Don’t become a prisoner to poor study decisions.
